Strength and Conditioning

A program designed for rowers specifically targeting major muscle groups in order to improve strength on and off the water. High intensity exercises are designed to:
Improve powerful leg drives -- very important in making boats move!

 
Improve strength in the full back. This limits back injury, and helps with assertive finishes and serious Body-Prep Positions.
Improve shoulder (and back) strength for clean and aggressive catches.
Increase muscle endurance.

A dynamic and highly competitive indoor rowing program for rowers. Improve cardiovascular ability, increase your strength, speed, stamina and position yourself for success in the upcoming spring sprint season. Erg workouts will emphasize technique and help you eliminate bad habits while optimizing your stroke and overall rowing potential. 

Participants must have completed at least one competitive season

Yoga for Rowers
Coach to be announced

All rowers, from the most novice to the most elite, are working on perfecting the same basic motions in rowing. The off-season is the perfect time to work on technique in the tanks.  From catch to finish, the anatomy of the rowing stroke will be reviewed and examined. 

Improved technique will help you maximize efficiency and power on the water.  Indoor tanks allow for an excellent opportunity for the coaching staff to review, break down and analyze individual rowers strokes in detail.

Yoga is increasingly being used by a variety of athletic disciplines because it is a great way to develop core strength and increase flexibility.  For rowers this translates into longer stroke lengths and improved power.  
Yoga will help athletes increase their body awareness, balance and posture, essential elements when setting a boat.  Additionally, yoga’s focus on breathing and relaxation techniques will help athletes reach increase aerobic capacity, mental strength and help reduce potential for injuries. 
Participants must bring their own yoga mat to class.

Cancellation prior to the start of class

- Full refund
