Sue Parvin

Coaching Coordinator & Varsity Girls Coach
Sue is a non-practicing Registered Nurse who joined the Board in 2005. A parent of two, she became interested in the sport of rowing when her son Jeff started with Pittsford Crew. She has rowed competitively as a Master rower, and recently became involved with coaching, serving as a volunteer assistant coach with Pittsford Crew for the past two years. Sue completed her Level I Coaching Certification in 2006.   She currently serves on the Health & Safety, Personnel and the Facilities & Equipment Committees. Sue’s past volunteer commitments include chairing Cultural Arts at both the elementary and high school levels, coaching softball and soccer, and teaching Sunday school at Christ Clarion Presbyterian Church.

Varsity Boys Coach
Andrew is an Adjunct Professor, and Field Placement Supervisor at the Warner School of Education and Human Development at the University of Rochester, where he is currently in the final stages of completing a masters degree in Secondary Social Studies Education and Special Education.  Andrew grew up in the Rochester area where he rowed for the Brighton Rowing Club for four years.  In 2002 he moved to Pittsburgh to attend Duquesne University where he rowed for four years while earning his BS in Secondary Education and his BA in History.  In 2006 he began his coaching career with North Allegheny High School Crew, as the women's novice coach that fall and co-coaching the varsity women in the spring of 2007.  In the summer of 2007 he moved back to Rochester, beginning a career in education as well as returning to Brighton to coach varsity women and direct Brighton Rowing Clubs Summer Sculling Program.  Andrew is also the women's coach for the Rochester Navy, summer rowing camp.

Tom Webb

Varsity Boys Assistant Coach
Tom Webb brings ten years of competitive rowing and coaching experience to  Pittsford Crew.  Webb started his career in the sport at Brighton Rowing Club, 1999. In 2001, he attended the Jr. National Team selection camp and placed 6th in the Jr. National Team Selection Regatta. Webb continued rowing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he placed in the Grand Final of the Men’s Freshman Eight and Men’s Varsity Pair at the IRA, the Division I National Championship Regatta.  Coach Webb comes to Pittsford Crew with over two years of coaching experience. He has worked at all levels, including: Novice Coach at Brighton Rowing Club in the '07-'08 season; Co-Head Coach of Skidmore Community Rowing, a nationally recognized master's program in Saratoga Springs, in the '08 season; and acting men's coach at Skidmore College in the '08-'09 season.

Suanne Lippman

President
Suanne has been a pediatric nurse practitioner at Strong and professor of nursing and pediatrics at the U of R for nearly 30 years, but now spends most of her time volunteering for the Pittsford School District, Boy Scouts, and Pittsford Crew. She became interested in rowing when her older son David joined Pittsford Crew in 2001 and began to serve on the Board of Directors in 2004. While David went on to row for three years at Boston College, her younger son Jared joined Pittsford Crew in 2007 and is beginning his second year on the Varsity Boy’s team. During the past 8 years she has worked on the Health and Safety Committee, coordinated Pasta Psych Parties, handled registration for Learn to Row, chaperoned overnight regattas, and served as Vice President for two years. She rows in Adventure Out’s and Fairport Crew’s Women’s Recreational rowing programs and is certified by U.S. Rowing as a Level 1 Coach. She and her husband Wade also enjoy hiking the Adirondack High Peaks, kayaking, and skiing with their two sons.

Vice President
Jill is a non-practicing attorney and community volunteer, who joined the Board in 2007. She is the parent of three children: Andrew, a Pittsford Crew alumnus and Learn to Row coach who rowed four years for George Washington University, Lexi, a junior at Wake Forest University and Brooke, who is a senior at Sutherland and a rower with the Varsity Girls team. As Board Vice President, Jill serves on the Personnel, Program and Fundraising Committees. As Fundraising Chair she spearheaded our successful Spring fundraiser, "Row for Strong Kids!", which is now going into its third year. She served for six years as a member of the Pittsford Central School District Board of Education, has been a Board member with the YWCA of Rochester and Monroe County, and the Junior League of Rochester, where she is a past President.  Her other volunteer commitments have included Allen Creek School PTSA Chair and President of Friends of Sutherland Soccer.

Lorna is a software engineer with General Electric, and enjoys being involved with the activities of her children. She is the parent of three children, two of who have participated in Pittsford Crew, including alumni Hannah and Varsity rower Jack.  Lorna is currently in her fourth year on the Board, where she has served as Board Secretary, Volunteer Coordinator, as a member of the Personnel Committee and handles all email correspondence for Pittsford Crew.  Other volunteer commitments include Boy Scout Troop 167, Pittsford PTSA and teaching Sunday School at Mountain Rise United Church of Christ in Perinton.

Registrar
Larry is a certified computer infrastructure architect with Sirius Computer Solutions and the father of Varsity rower Brandon Cooper.  As registrar he manages the online registration process and web site, and also coordinates the launch drivers and marshals for the Pittsford regattas.  Being a Pittsford resident since childhood, Larry has served in many volunteer capacities throughout the community, schools, and his church, including 20 years as a Pittsford Fire Commissioner and is still an active firefighter with over 30 years of service in the Pittsford Fire Department.

Board Member and Past President
Betsy has been with the Pittsford Crew Board since 2006. She has served as Fundraising Committee Chair and as President of the Board of Directors. Parent of Pittsford Crew alumnus Sam, who currently rows for UB, Varsity rower Maddie, and son James (who 'kind of' looks forward to rowing when he's old enough). She is an avid rower as well, having taken the adult Learn to Row through Fairport Crew, rowing with “Adventure Out!” and in the competitive Masters program through Genesee Waterways. Her previous volunteer experience has been with the Junior League of Rochester. Betsy also serves on the Board of the Pittsford Indoor Rowing Center.

Susan is the mother of Benjamin (Ben), a varsity rower, and Adam. She's been involved in fitness all her life, starting out with ballet (12+ years) and now runs, bikes, and works out at the JCC. A former management consultant and trainer, she currently works part time at Cooks' World in Brighton and is an avid vegetable/fruit gardener. Over the years Susan has done a lot of volunteering at Mendon Center Elementary School and at Calkins Road Middle School.

Lisa is a free lance public relations communications professional. She is the parent of three, Clara, a college cross country and track runner, Audrey, a former coxswain for the Varsity Boys team and currently a coxswain for the St Lawrence University Men's Team and  Rob, a Varsity rower. She's assisted with the Rowers Revelry, served as VB Team Parent and copy writer for team press releases. As a Board member she serves on the Communications and Personnel Committees. She's also on the Gallery Council at the Memorial Art Gallery. Her previous volunteer positions include: Activities Chair at the Genesee Valley Club, Girl Scouts of Genesee Valley Troop Leader, Secretary Junior League of Rochester and a variety of family related activities

Ken Plotkin

Board Member
Ken joined the board of Pittsford Crew in 2009, and serves in the Health and Safety Committee.  He and his wife (Carol) moved to Rochester in 1999 after several years in Washington, DC.  He is a neurologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy and sleep disorders, and has served on the board of the Epilepsy Foundation of Rochester, Syracuse and Binghamton since 2004.  Until the summer 2008 his only experience with a skull was in surgery.  Now his older two kids row for Pittsford crew, and family life increasingly includes time at the boathouse.  When the snow falls and the canal is frozen, you can find them on the slopes

Joe is a partner and patent attorney in the IP department of the law firm of Nixon Peabody LLP.  He currently serves on the Facilities & Equipment and Conduct & Discipline committees.  Joe and Terry are parents of varsity rower Max and Novice rower Sam.  In the summer Joe can be found on local baseball fields coaching Pittsford Little League.  In the winter he can be found on ski slopes throughout the state volunteering on race courses for the Sutherland Alpine Ski Team and Hunt Hollow Race Team.

Phil is a new board member of Pittsford Crew, and is an ophthalmologist and father of 4 children, of which daughter Hope and son Charlie are both Varsity rowers.  When not working, you can usually find him and his wife Lucy cheering for their kids' teams at sporting events  throughout the Northeast.
